Pandelis Mitropoulos was born in 1956 in Thessaloniki, Greece. He studied Economics in the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and Sociology of Organizations at Sciences Po in Paris.

From 1984 to 2005 he was the founder and CEO of Prooptiki S.A., which was the exclusive distributor in Greece, Cyprus and other Balkan countries of Sony Pictures, Disney, MGM as well as The Discovery Channel and BBC.

In 1987 Pandelis founded Piece of Cake S.A. (previously Attika S.A.) as part of Prooptiki’s Film Distribution Group of Companies. Piece of Cake was involved in the financing, developing and production of several Greek box-office hits for more than 25 years, becoming one of the leading film production & film marketing agencies in Greece. Among Attika’s titles were Golden Berlin Bear nominated ‘One Day in August’ (dir. Constantine Giannaris), Montreal IFF winner ‘Under the Stars’ (dir. Christos Georgiou), Oldenburg IFF winner ‘Hardcore’ (dir. Dennis Iliadis) as well as box-office hit ‘The Mating Game’ (dir. Olga Malea).

Pandelis was the general director of the Greek Film Center from January 2020 to September 2021. In September 2021 he left the GFC to focus exclusively on film and TV production and distribution.

Pandelis is a member of the European Film Academy and a member of the Hellenic Film Academy.
