Film Incentives

  • The cash rebate for the audiovisual industry in Greece is administered by the National Centre of Audiovisual Media & Communication.
  • The cash rebate for audiovisual works production supports: Feature Films, Documentaries, TV Series & Animations.
  • Applications may be made for international and domestic productions and/or co-productions to obtain a 40% cash rebate on the sum of eligible expenses incurred in Greek territory.
  • Applications should be submitted only by the Greek partner company.
  • The cash rebate is paid to producers no later than six months after the completion of the production and/ or post-production.
  • This incentive is officialy managed by the National Centre of Audiovisual Media & Communication.
  • The tax incentive corresponds to tax relief of 30% of the eligible expenses deducted from the net taxable results of the financiers of the approved investment plan.

Greek Film Centre Funding Programs

  • Eligible for this program are foreign works that involve the participation of Greek artistic and technical contributors, and/or make use of film labs based in Greece, and/or having part of the filming taking place in Greece.
  • The Program refers to two (2) distinct categories of fiction, documentary and animation feature-length projects with a minimum runtime of 70 minutes.
    • International co-productions originating from states signatory of the European Convention on Cinematographic Co-production or states that Greece has concluded a transnational treaty.
    • International co-productions originating from countries which have not ratified the European Convention on Cinematographic Co-productions and with which there is no bilateral agreement with Greece.
  • Applications all year long
  • This Program is addressed to feature films, documentaries, with a minimum running time of 70 minutes, as well as TV drama series and TV documentaries.
  • The maximum amount of the subsidy is set up to 10.000 euro.
